    Dr. William E. Steiger

    Dr. William E. Steiger is an associate instructor in the College of Business at the University of Central Florida and the Coordinator for the Professional Selling Program. He teaches courses in the Professional Selling Program as well as Marketing Management, Marketing Services and General Business courses in the Marketing Department.  Steiger coached two UCF student teams to sales competition National Championships in 2014 and 2017. Steiger joined the University of Central Florida Marketing Department in the College of Business as an adjunct instructor in August 2009.

    Steiger was named vice president and director of audience development for Orlando Sentinel Communications on February 6, 2003, responsible for evaluating and implementing opportunities to increase the company’s audience share.

    Steiger joined Orlando Sentinel Communications, publisher of the Orlando Sentinel, as its director of advertising in 1988. A year later he was named a vice president of the company.

    Before moving to Orlando, Steiger spent 15 years at the Chicago Tribune, where he started his career in advertising. He held a variety of sales and management positions during those years.

    Steiger received the Doctor of Business Administration degree at Rollins College in 2017. Steiger earned an MBA from the University of Central Florida in 2009.  A Chicago native, Steiger graduated from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana with a B.S. in Communications in 1973. Immediately following his graduation he joined the Chicago Tribune as a classified advertising sales person.

    Steiger has served on the Board of Governors of the Orlando Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Board of Directors for Florida’s One Blood, the Orlando Science Center Board, the Butkus Award Committee and the Board of the Orlando Lutheran Academy middle and high school.

    He and his wife, Beverly, live in Maitland, Florida.  They have two sons and three grandsons.
