John Cutter is managing editor of the Orlando Sentinel and a director of the Orlando Sentinel Media Group. His responsibilities include the day-to-day management of the newsroom and working with advertising and marketing on new strategic initiatives. He came to the Sentinel in 2002 after working for four years as a freelance health and aging writer for the New York Times, WebMD.com, Prevention, and other publications and for 13 years as an editor and writer at the St. Petersburg (now Tampa Bay) Times. In Orlando, John had various editing positions, from running the criminal justice team to serving as online content editor before leaving in 2008 to work as digital media manager for WESH-TV, the NBC affiliate in Orlando. John returned to the Sentinel in 2010 as digital manager and was named managing editor in 2015. He is a graduate of Fordham University in the Bronx.
